Why join one of our jewellery making workshops at Halton Village Silver?

Learn a new skill

I guess this is the most obvious reason! There is lots to learn here at Halton Village Silver, we have a wide selection of workshops and classes to choose from, many being suitable for beginners and first time visitors and some will stretch your skills a little bit too.

Learning a new skill is also amazing for your brain, its likes to be challenged and brain health is shown to be improved by using it to learn new skills.

Support from your teacher

Online videos and teaching are brilliant, and a wonderful way to gain further knowledge, but nothing beats the support that can be given by having a tutor right on hand to work through things with you.

I have completed the Level 3 Award in education and training, meaning that I am able to manage how I teach and deliver my workshops to meet peoples individual learning needs. I work with attendees to develop their learning goals, and action plans to achieve them.

Also, I’m currently towards the At the Bench Jewellery Fundamentals Diploma, taught by Andrew Berry. This gives you the confidence to know that my teaching is supported not only by many years of practise but also excellent training.

I’m part of several silversmithing and jewellery making communities, all of which I can turn to for help and advice. So if I don’t know the answer then they will step in to help by sharing their experience and knowledge. This is a huge benefit for you when attending one of our workshops, we can adapt, change and grow our knowledge all of the time.

Meet like minded people

Here at the workshop, you can be certain that you will meet like minded people, and other creatives. Many of our visitors have wider craft interests and are often happy to share their knowledge and experience of those too.

We have a kettle and a biscuit tin, both of which encourage the social aspect of our workshops.

Tools

It can cost quite a bit of money to set up your work bench and get all of the tools you need to get going, so attending a workshop not only means that you don’t need to buy tools until you are sure of what you need, and that you will continue with jewellery making, you also get to try out some of the larger and more expensive tools before purchasing.

So what are you waiting for? Check out all of our workshops and courses on the website and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
