We’re a Visit Cheshire Tourism Awards Finalist!
This is still slightly bonkers to write, but Halton Village Silver has been named as a finalist in the Experience of the Year category at the Visit Cheshire Tourism Awards 2027.
When I started Halton Village Silver, I really just wanted to create somewhere people could come and have a go at making jewellery. Somewhere friendly and relaxed, where you don’t need any experience, you can learn some proper silversmithing skills and, most importantly, go home with something you’ve actually made yourself.
As part of the judging process, we recently had our mystery shopper visit the studio. I knew it was coming, but not who it would be, and actually really enjoyed the day — once I'd stopped wondering whether every person who walked through the door might be them!
So to now see Halton Village Silver on the Visit Cheshire finalist list, alongside some very well-known Cheshire businesses and attractions, is a pretty big deal for my little studio in Frodsham.
And we’re not the only finalists from Lady Heyes either, which is lovely to see. Lady Heyes Holiday Park is also through to the finals, so there’ll be a little Lady Heyes contingent at the awards.
The Visit Cheshire Tourism Awards celebrate businesses and people working across Cheshire and Warrington’s visitor economy, with 18 categories covering everything from accommodation and attractions to food, events and experiences.
And apparently, we’re one of those experiences.
The awards ceremony takes place in February 2027 at Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere in Knutsford, so I’ll have to find something considerably smarter than my usual workshop clothes.
Whatever happens on the night, I’m genuinely delighted that Halton Village Silver has made it this far. Every workshop booking, recommendation, review and person who comes through the studio door has helped turn what started as a small jewellery business into something much bigger than I originally imagined.
