Silver Jewellery Skills Workshop

I thought that it might be a good time to introduce our Silver Jewellery Skills Workshops. We have been quietly running these for a little while now, and adapting and developing them and I think we are now at a really good point. Obviously I shall continue to take feedback and aim to continue to improve all of the time, but we now have what I believe is a really good course.

These are held over 2 days, usually a weekend or over 4 half days spread out over 4 weeks and as well as covering some of the basic silversmithing skills required to make jewellery, you have the opportunity to make three pieces of silver jewellery to take home and wear with pride!

During the workshops, you will cover the following skills and have plenty of time to ask questions.

  • Measuring and marking out, including how to measure silver for a ring to fit

  • Pierce sawing and shaping silver

  • Soldering

  • Filing and sanding

  • Finishing and polishing

You will use these new skills in the studio to create three different handmade bespoke pieces of silver jewellery to take home with you.

  • A silver ring made using traditional methods, and made to fit your exact measurements.

  • A elegantly simple sterling silver bangle.

  • A pair of silver earrings - you can decide between adding a post or making them into a pair of dangles.

What makes our skills course uniquely different to others is that although we do use copper to practise, the course price includes the silver required to make all of the above pieces. Lasting, beautiful memories of your course.
