Elegant Silver Earrings

This is a half day workshop suitable for beginners, making a pair of silver earrings. During this session you will get to practise some of the traditional silversmith techniques needed to create your own pair of silver earrings. You will have the opportunity to design and make a pair of simple studs or a pair of dangle's. This course will give you a taste of working in a metal work shop, using traditional tools and techniques. A brilliant day for anyone who is interested in the mechanics of metal work. During this course you will practise the following; Design your earrings Using a jewellers saw and disc cutters to cut your silver to measure Shaping the silver Adding texture and patterns using a variety of techniques Create earring wires Soldering components Sanding and clean up of solder joint Finishing and polishing ring. Light refreshments are included.
